For the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, Tate McRae stepped out with a cool, modern hair look created by celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos—one that balanced edge with ethereal softness.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic texture of Kate Moss, Giannetos crafted a style that felt intentionally undone yet undeniably chic, perfectly complementing McRae’s custom Balenciaga ensemble. The result was a fresh, fashion-forward take on red-carpet hair, complete with supermodel movement and an effortless finish.
“Tate wore a stunning custom Balenciaga look, so I wanted the hair to feel very editorial with a cool, modern and effortless vibe. The inspiration was an ethereal and edgy Kate Moss-inspired texture,” shares Giannetos. “It feels a little undone and effortlessly chic.”

To achieve McRae’s Grammys-ready texture, Giannetos focused on smooth prep, strategic volume and seamless length. He began by washing her hair with L’Oréal Paris EverPure Iron Sleek Shampoo ($11) and Conditioner ($11), creating a sleek foundation. On towel-dried hair, he applied L’Oréal Paris EverPure Iron Sleek Coat ($11) to help protect against frizz—an essential step when working under intense lights and humidity on the red carpet.
Next, Giannetos blow-dried the hair using his go-to tool, the Dyson Supersonic ($520), praising its speed, efficiency and heat-protective technology. Once dry, McRae’s hair was pinned up in sections and set in thick curls to build body and movement.
To enhance length and fullness, Great Lengths Tape-In Extensions were added and custom-matched to McRae’s shade. Their rooted design allowed them to blend seamlessly without adding weight. Giannetos then razored the extensions to perfectly align with her length and shape.
For the final touch, he finished the look with Initio Atomic Rose Hair Perfume ($105), ensuring Tate left a lasting impression both visually (and sensorially) on the Grammys carpet.
