Is outdoor exposure to secondhand smoke/aerosol comparable to indoors?

by | Jun 23, 2026 | Cardio, Fitness Tech & Gear, Healthcare, Healthcare Technology, Yoga

The difference in exposure to secondhand smoke/aerosol indoors and outdoors is that indoors, the concentration of the harmful chemicals, compounds and particles released from the product or exhaled by the smoker/vaper can build up and/or stay in the enclosed space for a longer period of time, meaning that people near the smoker/vaper indoors can be exposed to higher concentrations of pollutants for a longer time.

Regardless of where the exposure occurs—outdoors or indoors—second-hand exposure can pose health risks or worsen existing health symptoms for some people.
