
Studies show that one in ten fathers experience postnatal depression and 5-15% develop an anxiety disorder such as generalized anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder at some point during pregnancy or the first year after birth.
It is important to know that you are not alone and perinatal mental health disorders are treatable.

Support groups
PSI offers over 50 specialist support groups to meet your needs – including a group for fathers.

Peer Mentor Program
This program carefully matches individuals recovering from perinatal mental health disorders with trained volunteers who have lived through and recovered from similar experiences, fostering a safe, supportive and trusting peer-to-peer environment.

Chat with an expert
Join our weekly call and talk to a PSI expert about symptoms, resources, treatment options and more. It is not necessary to pre-register or provide your name. These sessions are facilitated by licensed mental health professionals and open to anyone with questions and concerns.

Specialized support coordinators
PSI has volunteers with personal experience of the challenges of experiencing a perinatal mental disorder while being a father. These specialized volunteers can allow other dads to connect with someone who understands what it’s like and share resources specific to this area.
